Cookie Placement: The cookies are placed into two layers in the box. The bottom layer would contain nine cookies, with six laying flat against the bottom and three at an angle. On top of this layer would be the three remaining cookies displayed under the window of the box. These top three cookies will be laid so the gaps between cookies on the bottom layer will be covered. This gives an illusion of more product in the box since the customer cannot see the white space of the base of the box. The cookies at a slant are used to ensure the top cookies do not shift within the box. Thus, taking care of tolerance. This also serves the purpose of making the box compact.

Design Description: The  main aim was to make a box which was cost effective yet structurally strong. Hence, we chose SBS 20 material. Dimensionally, we decided that our cookie box should have a reasonable shelf presence. That is why we designed a box wide in shape. We made changes to standard perforated crease lines. The new perforations are now ⅛”. This helped to glue corners of the box easily. We also added R.1” fillet on the front panel so that sides look aesthetically pleasing.  The window design we decided was a cookie with a bite taken out of it. There is the addition of small cookie pieces as well to cover more of the top surface of the box. We have chosen the mega chunk cookies as our cookie choice because it is the largest size. The window, would show only a few cookies rather than many cookies. The customer would be able to then see the details and texture of the product in the window. A higher end and more appealing product is the result. When creating the design of the window, the logo and graphics were taken into consideration. Enough space is left on the left  hand side of the cookie bite so as the brand name, cookie type and other essential branding can be done. The window was placed on the right hand side with some distance from the edge of the box so the customer, when looking into the window, would only see cookies and not the interior box walls. The crumbles of cookie in the window design also cross onto the logo side of the box. It shows the customer the box is filled completely with cookies and do not only half of the product inside. On the front panel we included a thumb hole for aesthetic and ergonomic purpose. The user can now easily open the box with this little design change.
